If you want to try some on your own there are a few add-ins that are delivered with Inventor. Go to C:\Program Files\Autodesk\Inventor 11\SDK\Tools\Users. Here you will find a few add-ins that offer some nice "bonus" tools.
Sean Doson also has a great site to check out here:

March 8, 2006 09:56 PMby Kevin SchneiderHP has a nice laptop too. It is the HP nx9420. I often am asked about good laptops. the IBM/Lenovo t60p looks nice, and I should have one soon to report back how well Inventor runs on it, but I thought this HP looks good to.

Laptop Lust
March 8, 2006 09:54 PMby Kevin SchneiderLenovo (new makers of Thinkpads) has announced a new laptop. The t60p.
Having used a t43p in the past, I can say that it was a solid performer and a great laptop to travel with. Inventor ran really well. The t60p is better across the board and has a dual core Intel processor to boot! I can't wait to try one.

see a spec sheet.

Autodesk Inventor Beta is here!
March 8, 2006 09:52 PMby Kevin SchneiderThe Autodesk Inventor Faraday eBeta1 has been released for download from the Faraday Project downloads zone on http://myfeedback.autodesk.com/.Please download at your earliest convenience. Please understand that at this stage in the development cycle, the bar has been raised for the
severity of issues we can address in order to stabilize the product and prevent regression defects.
If you have not already done so, please visit the MyFeedback Faraday Project zone to access the software, participate in the discussion forums, and receive important news and information.
This upcoming release will be the biggest, best Autodesk Inventor yet, so this year we are doing even more than ever before to make this a great Beta program, too! Later next month, we will have webcasts with members of the product team explaining some of the many new capabilities, as well as contests and appreciation gifts including an Xbox 360T, iPod nanos, and 3Dconnexion® spacePilotT 3D controllers.
We will also be sending out welcome packages complete with a DVD for easy installation, a welcome gift and other getting started materials.
If you have previously visited the MyFeedback site and registered for the Beta you should receive an email adding you to the Inventor Beta program, codenamed the Faraday Project. When you receive this email, please logon to http://myfeedback.autodesk.com, enter the Faraday Project zone, and sign your Autodesk Pre-Released Products Agreement so you can download the software and participate in the discussion forums. You will have two options
for installing the software - you will be able to download it immediately from the Faraday Project site, or you can wait about a month for your welcome package with DVD for easier installation.
Hurry, only the first 2,000 people to sign the Pre-Release agreement will be sent this welcome package (unless you hear otherwise you're among the first 2,000). As with any Beta software, always make sure to read all installation instructions and special information carefully. Thank you for your continued support of Autodesk Inventor, and we look forward to your active involvement
in this year's Beta program.

Need a little help? Don't know where to start?
March 8, 2006 09:51 PMby Kevin SchneiderWhen you run into problems there are two places I suggest you start with to get your answers.
1. Check out the useful information in the Inventor FAQ. It is full of answers to the most frequent questions we receive from you our customers. Check in every once and a while to see what has been added.
2. Keep up with the Inventor newsgroup. Help from your peers and Autodesk usually appears within a day or less. It is a great place to learn new techniques too!
