Almost a week into September already...
September 7, 2007 10:28 AMby Jay TedeschiAnd that can mean only one thing. The kids are back in school and the house is quiet again! Seriously though, with the approach of fall, Autodesk University is right around the corner. Those of us who will be presenting are already hard at work on our class materials, to ensure that you have the best experience possible at AU 2007.
The Manufacturing Campus will be greatly expanded this year, reflecting our growth over the last 12 months. We have allocated more space to Manufacturing and practically doubled class offerings of the last couple of years. AU 2007 will have 70 sessions focusing on the training needs and industry trends of customers in manufacturing. We have gone a step further to serve our MFG customers and created a Manufacturing at AU portal, highlighting class offerings and special events focused on manufacturing professionals. This micro-site is clean and easy to navigate, and it provides a synopsis of what's happening at AU that directly relate to our areas of interest.
In addition to the wider selection of classes and the phenomenal collection of instructors, we are most excited about the two PowerTracks we will be offering for manufacturingone on Inventor, the other on Alias. AU veteran Thom Tremblay will lead the Inventor PowerTrack. Thom and his crew will show you Inventor A to Z, covering topics as basic as installing Inventor to those more complex such as setting up and using Content Center.
We're also very excited to debut an Alias PowerTrack at AU 2007, with what we feel are a very solid and comprehensive set of courses for Industrial Designers. Prior to the acquisition by Autodesk, Alias offered "Alias Master Classes" and the Alias PowerTrack available at AU this year will provide that type of learning experience with a new format and all the additional benefits of attending AU!
Finally and best of all, it is the only place where you will be able to see Carl Bass sporting the latest fashion trend in designer eyewear

I think they used StudioTools to do the concept design for those [grin]
