Please don't ask where I've been or what I've been doing for the last several weeks; it's all very hush hush and if I told you...well, you know how the rest of that line goes. The good news is that I'm back, and right here in the thick of the action at Autodesk University 2006 which is where we first launched the Community Portal a year ago.

What a year! From our perspective in the data management team it's been a year of tremendous progress, and I see a lot of that evidenced here at this mongo user event in Las Vegas. On Monday we kicked off with our Customer Listening session, which drew almost 3X the people we hosted in 2005. Our session was devoted almost entirely to listening, sharing ideas and experiences and networking customers with other customers. I'd like to thank Patrick Chartrand (Advanced Dynamics), Steve Brown (York Refrigeration), Steve Hilvers (Unverferth) and Ken Willingham (Noble Drilling) for taking the time to present their experiences (the good, the bad and the ugly) to us and the rest of our customer team.

This kind of forum provides everyone with a place to discuss what's working well and where we need to focus our efforts to move the products forward. We finished up the afternoon with a short presentation on future ideas and concepts; here are a couple of shots:

A big thanks also to our Product Design and Development team who attended the session and helped provide first class support.

Watch this space - more to follow soon.
