We Want You... to help us make Simulation better.

As you may or may not know, Autodesk acquired PlassoTech in August 2007 in order to enhance the simulation and optimization capabilities in Inventor. Our goal is to make it easier than ever to simulate, optimize and validate a complete digital prototype.

In the pursuit of that goal, we are looking to gather some insights from you about the design challenges, tools and industry. Please take this short (6 questions, ~5 min) survey to help us create the most capable and easy to use tools for Digital Prototyping.  It's quick, it's painless, and besides, it's just plain fun to visit a site named "SurveyMonkey" [grin]

Hi, I have a few reccomendations about it. I'm very sceptical about CAE, but I have proved the module, and the results that I get, are truthful, I have simulated a 6 linked rod mechanism. I have noted: 1. You cannot create a "Trace" for the center of gravity of any component, because when you validated the dynamic analysis you must get the c.g. velocity and acceleration. 2.Once the analysis finished, you can prompt the grapher window and review every step of the kinematic positions and review the velocities, acceleration, forces values, this is excellent, but when you need to review the simulation after close the assembly file, you must run again the analysis, with the loaded simulation, you cannot review in a graphic way any second. I'm not a english native spoken, if you don't understand anything, tell me and then I sent you a collage of images.

Jorge, First of all, thanks for such good feedback, and no problem re. the English... I wish everyone was as thorough as yourself. Some of the problems that you mentioned have been addressed in the 2009 release, most notably those re. the Output Grapher. The Trace functionality has been moved to the Grapher itself, so you can add and tweak them after the analysis is run, while in the Grapher window. I am not sure about placing a trace on a C.G.... I will check that momentarily. I am forwarding this to the Product Manager for Simulation, and once again, thanks for the comments... they are extremely useful!
