Copy That...
November 11, 2008, 05:53 PM Garin Gardiner
One of those features I run across once a year and wonder why I don't use it more is the Copy / Paste capability in Inventor. This has been in Inventor for as long as I can remember and can come in very handy from time to time.
If you have created a feature or several features that you would like to copy to another face or part, you can easily do this by selecting the features from the browser or changing your selection type to "Feature Priority" and select the features you would like to re-use.

Create or open a different part and right click in the graphic window and select Paste. You can then move and rotate the sketch around to position the new feature where you would like it. When you are finished you can select Finish and see the newly copied feature in your new part.
