AU 2008: Seeking Great Presenters

    The Autodesk University (AU) User Conference and Exhibition is Autodesk's premier annual event. AU is all about empowering professionals with training, resources, and contacts to help them realize their best ideas.

    If you've ever attended AU, you know that part of its success is the fact that AU consistently offers excellent presentations from some of the world’s most experienced industry professionals. Attendees are seeking Autodesk and partner solutions that will help them align their careers and their organizations for success in today's fast-changing industries. AU offers that and more.

    For example, some users are not keen on attending product demos at trade shows because they can easily arrange those with their dealers. At AU, users can seek out classes that will help them overcome practical design and workflow challenges in their day-to-day work. That's just one example of AU offering attendees a unique opportunity to learn new ways to streamline processes using Autodesk solutions.

    After another record-breaking event in 2007, AU is returning to Las Vegas, where our venue will again be the Venetian Resort Hotel—one of the world's finest meeting and convention facilities. So with AU 2008 just around the corner, it’s time for us to assemble the faculty. Based on direct feedback from past attendees, successful presentations should focus on one or all of the following elements:

    • State-of-the-art tools, tips, and techniques that represent best practices in various disciplines;
    • Personal and team productivity-boosting solutions for common day-to-day tasks and issues faced by attendees;
    • Specific methods to improve concept-to-completion cycles: workflow, collaboration, productivity, and overall efficiency;
    • Current industry trends, with a view to identifying what's hot and what's not. Examples: the migration to 3D; the integration of design data throughout the entire enterprise, and the latest training technologies;
    • Business considerations and strategies for evaluating, adopting, and maintaining new technologies; and
    • General Content Guidelines for 2008 Call for Papers.

    It’s subject matter experts, like you, that are the most critical component of the overall AU experience. So, if  you meet any of the following guidelines, we want to hear from you.

    Presenters should:

    • Have good communication skills, technical expertise, and relevant experience;
    • Want to share knowledge of a favorite topic—from tips and tricks and sales techniques to new business opportunities such as sustainable design;
    • Be motivated to bring success to design professionals and their organizations;  and
    • Want to demonstrate the expertise to several thousand Autodesk customers, partners, and employees.

    The Call for Papers for AU 2008 is currently open. The deadline to submit your paper and be considered as a presenter is April 27th, 2008. For more information, or to submit your proposals online—submissions deadline is April 27—visit the Call for Papers Web site.
