In an effort to better support the local user community, Autodesk User Group International announced the winners of 2007 user group awards at Autodesk University. BAMUG, the San Francisco-Area Manufacturing user group, won the Chapter of the Year. The Board members for the BAMUG are Robert Gonzalez, George Robinson, Barry MacKinnon and Vito Salvatore. The award was presented to Chairman Robert Gonzalez on the main stage at the AUGI Annual Meeting Tuesday night at AU. For more information on this group, see http://chapters.augi.com/amug/bamug/ .
Greg Silva, chairman of AMUG Oklahoma Chapter and president of the Tulsa AutoCAD User Group, was awarded the Member of the Year. Silva received the award at the Local Chapter Leadership Conference at AU. For more information, see http://chapters.augi.com/amug/oklahoma/ .
Also presented at the Local Chapter Leadership Conference, D3 Technologies received the Sponsor of the Year award for their continued high-level support to user groups. AUGI user group members and sponsors were asked to nominate chapters, members and sponsors who should be recognized for their continued dedication to local chapters. A criteria was presented on the nomination forms to show the guidelines of success and dedication. The nominations were then reviewed by a panel and winners were selection based on a rubric and vote.

AUGI is the Autodesk User Group International, officially recognized by Autodesk as representing the Autodesk user community. AUGI has two prime directives. The first is to assist its members by presenting programs and information that will enhance their use of Autodesk products. The second is to deliver the voice of the user community to Autodesk, thus assisting Autodesk in product development and giving users a say in the process.
