Seems like the AutoCAD Electrical users don't get much press time. It is always 3-d modleing and surface modling with Inventor. I will probably never use that stuff, I am strictly electrical. I like it, but if users don't"feel good" about using it, there are less expensive programs out there that do as much as we need.

To add to what Dennis has said. I use AutoCad for fast 3D prototype work. Inventor and Mechanical don't meet my, or our clients requirements. Online resources rarely acknowledge, support, or even endorse the use of the 3d capabilities of AutoCad.

If you are a Electrical user or only use 2d function, the best is to use SolidEdge 2D Free version. It is very good one.

Why is it that the discussion group screens are often text only? see here for an example, http://discussion.autodesk.com/adskcsp/forum.jspa?forumID=120 I get to that screen from the home page, then click "Communities" from the menu at the top, then click Manufacturing under the users column on the left, then click "Discussions" from the menu at the top, then "View all Autodesk Inventor" and there is only text. Why?
