Create a Fillet: 0 command to save time.

Whilst working in AutoCAD, you can trim and extend your edges to make a intersection between two lines into a corner. But why use 2 commands to extend and trim the lines to each other, while you can easily do it in 1 command. Set the fillet to a radius of 0mm and select both lines and the corner is realized. And for those who know a little bit more about making custom commands, program a button which sets your fillet radius to 0mm and let's you select the edges immediately. Use this DIESEL code in your button: ^C^C_fillet;_r;0;_fillet

This was a good tip and when in AutoCAD it was used by my group all the time. We work in Mechanical 2008 now and interestingly enough there is a button on the AM_Modify tool bar called Join Entities that does exactly the same thing. I am surprised that it wasn't added in the AutoCAD commands as well. Try creating a button and use the command ^C^C_join. In fact, check customization to see if it is already in there? Good luck, Mark

You can also achieve this by holding down the shift key while selecting the lines. Works on both the fillet and chamfer command.

Trim / Extend can also be used concurrently with the shift button. If you are in the Trim command and need to Extend a line to the same object line, holding SHIFT allows you to Extend lines....until SHIFT is released. It works either way - while trimming or extending.
