With Productstream 5, you can flag drawing files that have not been updated when changes are made to models. This is especially helpful to ensure that the drawing is updated and accurate before you release an Item and is viewed through the Productstream Explorer web client. To enable this setting, open Vault Manager. Highlight the Vault database, go to the Actions tab and click Update File Status. Click OK at the prompt. Close Vault Manager. Next, open Productstream. Go to Tools>Administration. Enable Track File Status from the Files tab. To show this flag visually in Vault Explorer, right click and select Customize View and add File Status. Place File Status near File Type, Attachments, and linked to an Item. Files that are out of date will have an icon displayed in this column.

Finally, you can create a saved search that will display Inventor Item drawings that are in need of updating. Use the following criteria: File Name contains *.idw File Status is Needs Updating Linked to Item is true.

Any thought to watermarking the drawings DWF with "Out of Date" before the IDW is updated? I'm going to add this to the wishlist.
