Bio:
I worked for Dairy Crest Foods for ten years after leaving school as a Plant Maintenance Engineer. I then retrained at Middlesex University to become a Design &
Technology teacher. I have been a teacher since 1991 and I won a Teaching Award in 2001 for the 'Creative Use of ICT' in addition, in 2002 I received a Leadership Award
from the Design and Technology Association at the Royal Society in London. I currently work as Head of Design and Technology in a high school called Ysgol Dinas
Brân in Llangollen, North Wales, U.K. I am a consultant to a number of government and advisory bodies across England and Wales. My students have won many awards
including the Young Engineer of the Year, Wales Student Innovation Awards, WDA Student Innovation Awards, Sustainable Design Awards and many others. In addition, two of
my students have been granted patents on their projects at 18 years old (before going to University). The work produced by my students has been exhibited widely across
the UK and has led to the development of International links. As a department we enjoy strong industry links with Autodesk. Without the support of Autodesk my students
would not have been able to consistently produce work of the high standard they achieve.
