Senior Product Design Technologist
Consumer Products Design

Bio:
Certified Engineering Technologist [C.E.T.], Structural, since 1992, with additional diploma in Machine Drafting [1982]. I have been designing in the agricultural,
curtainwall, automotive and consumer products industries for 25 years. I started on the board in 1982 working for an agricultural manufacturer where I was the lead
designer of a self-levelling front end loader. I returned to college in 1988 and graduated in 1990 with a diploma in Structural Engineering Technology. I was then
hired as a designer for an aluminum curtainwall manufacturer and was involved in many local and overseas curtainwall, storefront and skylight projects. 3D solid
modelling was in its infancy then, so everything was 2D. After six years with that company, I changed industries and worked for an urban transit bus manufacturer,
where I used Unigraphics as a design tool and was responsible for the design and installation of many of the "customer options" put on the bus like UHF radio
systems, radio boxes and other driver amenities. After seven years with that company, I changed industries again and have since worked for a high end wood window and
door manufacturer as Senior Product Design Technologist. Here, we started with 2D AutoCAD, then moved to Catia. After two years of Catia it was decided that, after an
extensive and exhaustive search, Inventor was a better fit for our business model. Lately, I have taken on the challenge of developing templates and CAD standards for
our design department, as well as continuing my work as a designer. I enjoy my work and am amazed at how design technology has changed since I first started out. I
am 46 years old, married, and have a five year old son and a 3 year old daughter, both beautiful. My greatest thrill? Besides getting married and being a father and a
husband? Hopping on a Yamaha FZR1000 [slightly tricked out with some custom pipes, jetting and fuel mapping}, twisting the throttle and reaching a top speed of 178 mph,
on the highway. I look forward to the advances that Inventor will present over the coming years.
